Competition is everywhere...
... but from my own clients under 3.5 feet tall? That's just wrong!

1. Yes, I let them shoot with my pro camera.
2. Yes, they were very careful.
3. Yes, I have insurance.

The whole house is currently addicted to WICKED and the soundtrack plays endlessly in the cars, on iTunes at my computer and on Mia's CD player. Drew's a music ed major and Mia thinks she's on stage 24/7 so you can imagine what it sounds like around here.
Here are our two favorite songs from the original Broadway cast of WICKED courtesy of YouTube: Popular and Defying Gravity (or Defining Gravity, according to Mia)
Popular
Defying Gravity
I've never been a fan of The Wizard of Oz movie, though I've read all of the Oz books, so maybe that explains my WICKED obsession. Or maybe it's because I always root for the underdog. Or maybe it's because Glinda's just a little too perfect, if you know what I mean, LOL!
We plan to spend Christmas 2008 in NY so I'm asking Santa for WICKED tickets. Wish me luck!
I think someone's been watching Mommy work on senior portraits too much! The first two poses were all her and the third one is a pose my senior girls will recognize in a heartbeat.
I'm not ready for Mia to REALLY look like this but it was fun seeing her take on what Mommy does. Daddy, however, didn't think it was funny at all...
We did it! We beat the storm... well, almost.
This was truly the session that shouldn't have been.
Our first contact was 3 weeks ago - usually I'm booked 6 weeks out. Dad arrived home from Iraq just a few days before the family came to Myrtle Beach for their Celebrating Adoption session. We had alternate dates set, just in case. Bad weather hit the area and they were scheduled to leave for home the next day so we met on their way back out of town. You would think there would be hesitation, discomfort, a sense of oddness when Dad left for Iraq only a few weeks after Miss E joined the family. There wasn't.
Miss C and Miss E couldn't have been cuter. The weather cooperated (mostly) and the girls and I became friends rather quickly.
I told Mom that I wouldn't be able to look at these for a few days - since all of my gifts are still unwrapped - but I couldn't resist. I'm glad I didn't. Meet the E family!
Big sister Miss C.
Little sister Miss E.

Look at the love and joy and wonder...
Dad returns to Iraq the first week of January. Our prayers and best wishes go with him, as well as with his girls who remain behind. Be safe, and I'll see you all this summer!

I know I said I'd announce the end-of-the-year treat today but life and technology have interfered so hold on for one. more. day.
It seems I no sooner get hit with one change, then another socks me in the gut as well.
My baby's lost two teeth in a month and she's only just turned 5. Now she got glasses and looks at least 7 years old!
My two boys are 19 and 17. One's grown, the other nearly so. This one was supposed to stay little longer. I appreciate it more, I love babies, I'm ready to enjoy the place she's in rather than rushing onto the next milestone like I did with her older brothers.
She's growing up.
I'm not ready for it.
She is.
It's just not fair.
Be watching the blog and your email on Thursday for a one-time special. I've been lazy... and you're going to benefit!
stay tuned...
