Jessica - a beach maternity

The cold 'n chilly weather had us rescheduling to a much warmer day, thank goodness! Meet Jessica and the sweet Miss M.

Miss M wanted NOTHING to do with us at the beach - shells held much more interest for her than my camera and Baby Sister.

Tiny Jessica and her beautiful big belly - is it any wonder she delivered just a few days later?

Featured client: Lisa

1. First name & city: Lisa, Myrtle Beach
2. Who was photographed in your session? Ava, 10 months old
3. What are your New Year's resolutions? My resolution is to get my body in shape so I can be a healthy mom for Ava...this includes exercise and eating right.
4. Which New Year's resolution will be over by January 31st? Which one is most likely to make it through December? I haven't been physically fit for long time so I'm hoping I can stick to it this time!
5. Shopping - stores, online or both? Stores for clothing and impulse buying...everything else online!
6. Facebook or MySpace or both or neither? neither
7. What was the last book you read? P.S. I Love You.  My husband thought I was nuts because the book made me laugh out loud then sob every 10 minutes! I know the movie won't be as good as the book, but I can't wait to see it anyway!
8. What's on your nightstand? A lamp, hand lotion, alarm clock, cell charger, and a coaster for my cold glass of water.
9. What are your favorite websites or blogs to visit? Kimberly Hill Photography (of course) I love seeing the new photos! And I love to "spy" on my husband so I check out his blog too. www.realestateinmyrtlebeach.org
10. What is a must-see or must-do in Myrtle Beach? Bovine's Restaurant in Murrells Inlet Mmmmm!

* bonus question #1: What is your favorite thing about KHP/KSeniors? the pictures are artistic and oh so beautiful!
* bonus question #2: What is your favorite image from your session and why?
* bonus question #3: Share something from your session - why you chose the outfits you wore, something funny or touching that happened at your session, etc. Little Ava is growing up so quickly and I get tears in my eyes knowing that someday she'll be leaving for college just like the real seniors in your photos.  Looking at Ava's "senior" photo reminds me to cherish every moment. :-)

Poor Jason. I explained that he was merely an accessory and his sole purpose was to make Sarah look better. He laughed. This next one looks great in person - not so much on the web though.

He's home!

Bryce was released from the hospital this afternoon and is resting comfortably at home. His hand surgery is scheduled for next Tuesday and he'll have the stitches in his head removed 2 days later. Hopefully he'll be able to go back to school the next week but if not, he'll continue with the tutor.

Thank you again for all of the prayers!

The car - warning, GRAPHIC

He should've never survived, much less essentially walked away with a concussion, bruised knee, gashed forehead, and severely broken finger.

Update!

Bryce is doing much better this morning and has been moved from ICU to a regular room in the peds department (at 17, he's real thrilled with that one) and might be released tomorrow.

Thank you so much for all of the emails and phone calls. Your support, prayers, and well wishes are so very appreciated!

Go kiss your children

My middle son was in a horrific car crash today. One where he would've lost his life had he not been driving a convertible which had a reinforced frame around the windshield. It stopped the back of the truck frame from slicing through it and kept his car from going under the truck he slid into. I don't need to spell out what that would've done to him.

He's amazingly fine - broken finger, bruised knee, gash on his head, concussion - and will spend the night in ICU under observation just in case.

Go kiss your children...

Which one is most likely to make it through December? def. a new job...hopefully way before December
5. Shopping - stores, online or both?  ablsolutely both!  Online especially through the holidays...I HATE the Christmas crowd!

6. Facebook or MySpace or both or neither?  Neither...I have a blog on Blogger.
7. What was the last book you read? Perfect Match by Jodi Picoult
8. What's on your nightstand? Keeping Faith by Jodi Picoult--I read My Sister's Keeper a few months ago, and I have been reading everything she has written ever since then.  Phenomenal author!!!!!
9. What are your favorite websites or blogs to visit? Target.com, People.com, ilovephotography.com (thanks Kimberly), ebay, My blog  www.emma-and-us.blogspot.com, guatadopt.com
10. What is a must-see or must-do in Myrtle Beach?  ummm...the beach...of course. We also really enjoy Broadway at the Beach...as long as it's not super hot.

* bonus question #1: What is your favorite thing about KHP/KSeniors?  Kimberly...without a doubt!  You made us feel so comfortable and you are so easy to talk to.  We had a discussion about me learning to do photography at our session and I am currently enrolled to start taking classes in January to learn some basics.  And I've been on the hunt for my next "perfect" camera...much to Tim's dismay!

* bonus question #2: What is your favorite image from your session and why?  Definitely the close-up of Emma where you focused on those amazing eyelashes of hers!!  And the naked baby shot.  Love that one!

* bonus question #3: Share something from your session - why you chose the outfits you wore, something funny or touching that happened at your session, etc.  We always tell people about Emma chasing the sand crab and crying when Daddy would not give it to her.  That was the only time she cried during the whole session...when she didn't get her way!  This was a Celebrating Adoption session, so it really meant a lot to us to have these pictures taken.  Emma had only been home for a month and she turned one the weekend we were down there.  It was just really nice to have those photos taken so soon after she was brought home to our forever famil; and to see how she was already so well-meshed into our family as our child.  That bond...I believe is so evident in those photos.
