The CCB strikes again

The subject: My CrazyChineseBaby (aka CCB, Mia, Mouse) who asked me to photograph her this morning.

The caveat: I had no say in posing, location, or styling. She was calling the shots.

The result is below.

I fully admit to wearing my MommyGoggles on the last one, but it's SOOOOO her I don't even mind the technical imperfections. I'm going to have it printed as a 16x16 square gallery wrapped canvas with the sides painted pink to hang in her room. She thinks she looks beautiful and of course, so do I.

No matter how grown up she is, she's still my little baby...

MGH1

She starts kindergarten on August 18th. I'm in full denial mode.

A picture speaks a thousand words.

Nuffsaid

Real love.

Since it was thundering heavily before our session, Miss Sophia and I had a chance to sit in the hotel lobby and chat. You see, Sophia is not a big fan of thunder. Not one bit! We talked about vacations, storm safety, clothes, shopping, storm safety, jewelry, brothers, storm safety, friends with hot tubs in their homes (you know, the usual) and I could've chatted with her for much, much longer! What a bright, funny, adorable little girl!

Her mama obviously thinks so too since she brought the necklace Sophia made her all the way to Myrtle Beach so she could be photographed wearing it. We decided the necklace, and the artist, needed to be featured all by themselves.

Sophia

Hey Sophia, let's do lunch next time you're in Myrtle Beach! You bring your mama and I'll bring my CrazyChineseBaby. I think the four of us would have a blast!

Daddy's Girl

Such a doll baby and she's crazy about her daddy.

Hopefully this will tide you over until I can get the rest edited, Amy!

Sorry to post and run but I'm running late - I just had to share this!

Pure deliciousness

Aren't these just yummy? I love me some 2.5" gallery wrapped canvases!

Sneak peek: Marcy

A & A - so adorable and completely different! When they arrived, Mr. A came right over, made friends, and absconded with my equipment. Miss A took her time checking out the area, stayed close to Mom, and was very, very serious. Not sad, not unhappy, but taking everything in before making up her mind that not only the location was okay, but I was too. Look at these first two images - there's no doubt who's whom!

Such a beautiful family and so very blessed by their adoption of these two beautiful, charming children from Guatemala.

Thank you so much for choosing me as your Celebrating Adoption photographer, Marcy!

Just say no to CHEESE

Cheese

He's a typical 4-year-old boy. As soon as he sees a camera, he assumes the CHEESE position. What're you going to do? Laugh!

It's all about the teeth...

... or the lack therof.

Teeth

H. lost his tooth the night before our session. Can you believe the Tooth Fairy gives $10 when you're visiting South Carolina because she doesn't have to pay taxes? H's Mom and Dad know everything!

More to come, Sewell family!

"I'm 3, but I can be 5!"

Jumping ahead a few sessions to share this little scamp who stole my heart.

I asked J. if he was 5 years old so he could help me with the white balance target - you know, so your family doesn't turn green in my camera. His eyes got THIS BIG and he said solemnly "I'm 3, but I can be 5!" Hopped right up, took the target, and concentrated heavily on making sure he held it just so, even ignoring the grownup conversations and baby kissing going on around him.

While I photographed other family groupings, J. kept the rest entertained as he chased squirrels, hid behind palmetto trees, and played chase with Uncle Matt and Daddy. When it was his turn in front of the camera again, he followed directions perfectly, posed, and then back to the real fun... and the promise of the beach.

More later - enjoy the rest of your vacation!
