Last minute session available - Monday, July 14th

** Booked **

Thanks for the speediness, Lisa! I can't wait to meet your family in North Litchfield!  :)

Date: Monday, July 14th

Time: 7pm

Location: Your hotel or beach house or one of Kimberly's favorite fabulous-o locations

If you've been waiting for a sunset beach session with KHP/KSeniors, now's your chance! Call the studio line at 843.215.8564 to reserve the date.

Laura gave me the jitters!

Not because she's hard to photograph or mean or anything like that, it's because she's a photographer. I love being able to photograph other photographers since we're so seldom in front of the camera but there's usually a reason why - we hate being photographed ourselves!

Laura and her husband came to Myrtle Beach to celebrate their 10th anniversary (yay!) and Vinnie gets the award for being the perfect supporting husband. No matter what I said or Laura did (and we were pretty goofy), Vinnie sat... perfectly posed.. pleasant smile on his face... ready for me to click the shutter. Mind you, this is what I tell the adults in the family to do so that when the kids' attention is on me, I'm not trying to get Mom and Dad's attention again but this was the first time I've ever seen a husband do it for his wife. I told him that his sole job was to make Laura look good, and he did. Of course, I'm not silly enough to think he was enjoying it - he was hoping if he behaved, he'd be done faster.  ;)

Photographers' beach playdate

I'm up to my eyeballs in editing but I wanted to share some snapshots from a photographers' playdate I enjoyed last week. Angela Crutcher came to visit Myrtle Beach with her family and Natalie Kimball and I joined them for some family portraits for Angela, then to talk shop (with another Nikon girl, YAY Angela!), and watch our three 5-year-old diva daughters play.

Here's Angela's family

And Miss G, Angela's daughter

Miss S, Natalie's daughter

And my CrazyChineseBaby, Mia

While Natalie spent some time with Angela and photographing her children, I kept an eye on the other two mermaids to make sure they didn't disappear into the deep. It never ceases to amaze me that my daughter - the one who doesn't like water on her face in the tub and begs not to take a shower - doesn't think twice about dunking her face in the ocean.

I'm home! I'm home!

Well, I was supposed to be off another day but my bulging email and voicemail boxes were calling my name so here I am! If you haven't heard from me and you contacted me during my vacation, drop me another line or give me a call.

Molly K. from Michigan, if you're out there, email me again! Your email address is incomplete and I can't get senior session info to you.

The result of being all caught up? Summer sessions are almost completely booked so I opened a few more dates on the calendar. I can't fathom that it's only the first week in May and we're that full already! Thanks again to the many families who are trusting their memories to Kimberly Hill Photography. We're going to have SOOOOO much fun!

And yes, the holiday session calendar will be opening soon.  ;)

I was HAD!

Very sneaky. That's all I can say... very sneaky.

Remember the birthday trip to Disney I told you that my darling husband was taking me on? Ahem. WRONG! He told me the flight to Ft. Lauderdale was so much cheaper than the flight to Orlando so we were driving from there to WDW. Okay, no problem. But when we landed in Ft. Lauderdale, my girlfriend and fellow photographer Lizney Sievert was there at the airport. SURPRISE!

Forget WDW, after a yummy Italian lunch in Las Olas, we spent the day with Lizney on the water taxi giggling and talking and ogling the multimillion dollar homes, then headed to the hotel to get cleaned up. Afterwards Lizney and her husband Chris drove us to the Broward Center for the Performing Arts to see... <insert drum roll here> WICKED! Be still my heart  :)  :)  :)

Then we walked a bit, went back to Las Olas and had a late supper at Mango's. Yum!

The next morning we enjoyed a leisurely morning, sat down to a quiet lunch in the hotel restaurant (divine clam chowder!) and then joined Lizney, Chris, and their youngest child Miss B drove around South Beach and people watched. Then it was time to board our plane for the trip home. I'm going to miss Lizney terribly - we were roomies during the convention in FL and now seeing her during our little trip.

I'm such a jet-setter, LOL!

Huge thanks to my wonderful husband! What a fantastic way to celebrate turning 41!! Love you, babe!

Happy birthday to ME!

DH is whisking me away for a wonderful quick trip to Disney so KHP will be closed 3/27 through 3/30 in order to relax, rejuvenate, and C*E*L*E*B*R*A*T*E!

Thank you for the wonderful birthday wishes I've already received. I'm 41 today and living my dream... how much better can it get?!

Image of moi by Jen Hillenga, famed rockstar diva extraordinaire, beloved friend, hiney-kickin' mentor, ridiculously gifted artist, Kodak's Photographer to Watch for 2006, and co-owner of Momento Images in Savage, MN. I can't wait to see the rest from my quickie session but the woman's been too busy speaking on the national circuit to finish the editing. It would sure be a great birthday present though, LOL!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Here's a bit o' Irish bits 'n trivia for ya!

Irish/Irish-American celebs: Bono & the boys of U2, actor Liam Neeson (yum), actor Pierce Brosnan (yum again), badboy actor Colin Farrell, singer Tim McGraw, actress Diane Keaton, Patriots football quaterback Tom Brady, and me  ;)

Confessions of a Pioneer Woman - YEEHAW!

I love to read. I love to laugh. I love photography. I love sarcasm. I can get it all here: http://www.thepioneerwoman.com/

This blog is my dangling carrot. When I have a task I don't want to do (taxes, anyone?) I make a deal with myself that after <insert cruddy task here> is completed, I get to read Pioneer Woman. Yay! Hey, we all do what we have to do to get the job done.  ;)

First off, you must go back and read all 1,205 installments of "Black Heels to Tractor Wheels: A Love Story" immediately. Have tissue handy, trust me. Okay, so there are only 30 installments so far and I'm impatiently waiting for the next one! I'm falling in lust love with Marlboro Man right alongside PW. (if you're reading this, honey... just kidding! LOL!)

AND... if you cook, so does PW! http://www.thepioneerwomancooks.com/ As for me, I don't cook. But I'm smart enough to get my mother-in-law hooked on the blog and I make sure to send her links when PW posts something extra delicious I want to try. Sure enough, sometime soon that dish will be making its way to MY house and I didn't have to cook it. muhahahahahaha!

Plowing through life in the country... one calf nut at a time. What a great tagline - how can you NOT read this blog?

PMA - Sinfonia

Huge thanks to the brothers of PMA for choosing me to photograph their first-ever recital!

"Just a quick headshot, Mom"

Yes, that's what he said. I'm sick as a dog ::coughsneeze:: but I dragged out the camera, and the flash (because heaven forbid we ask while it's still daylight outside), and the... well, you get it.

Of course, there's nothing QUICK about it since I'm a perfectionist but finally I had to give in and take what I got. ::sneezesneezesneeze::

My boy's headshot for Phi Mu Alpha  - whoever would've guessed DREW in a FRATERNITY?
